Alastor Adventure by Princess

We got ready to go to Alastor (a special family place) with Grandfather, Uncle Danny and Auntie Annette. We got in the cars and began driving. We were in the Blue Mountains. We drove straight through Blackheath and down a winding road into the Megalong Valley.

We parked the cars and began walking. It was so extreme and adventurous all at the same time. After two hours of extreme bush bashing we were starving hungry, exhausted and desperate to get there. 

We sent two of the adults to get the cars and walked further down the road. When the cars came we drove up the road and to find a place to have lunch but before we could have lunch Grandfather found Alastor.

It was beautiful, and we were successful! There were cliffs towering majestically overhead. To the right a stream bubbling softly over rocks. To the left the queenly moss covered throne of Alastor. There was a name tree with names carved into the tree, and a moss fireplace. 

We had lunch and went to explore our superb scenery, with moss covered boulders, fungi and rainforest trees. It was so wild yet so beautiful. We stayed for a few hours before we left. We had so much fun. Finding Alastor was really an adventure.

Princess Tornado Experience















I had been reading a book on my bed when I decided to go and look out the window to see how bad the storm was. I saw the archway fall down and so I called the kids into my room and we saw a tank land on the verandah and a 100 year old tree with our property sign on it fall down.

It was very quick. It only lasted two minutes or so on our property. It wasn't scary at the time. But when we went outside we could see the tornado over our neighbours place. That was a bit scary. The main scary bit about it was that our place was really messy and we lost two geese.

But it had it's funny side on some things. When the car window got pushed in and the light sucked out Mummy's PJ's which were still in the back were sucked out and thrown onto a bush. One of the 20 000 litre tanks got smashed up and disappeared!

The garage was ruined. It had all our unpacked things in it. The silo collided with one of the tanks in the middle of the house yard at a tree where you drive your car around. We lost a whole heap of trees and our big pepper tree in the front yard became a weird sculpture. Our trampoline got smashed up after it went cartwheeling across the yard.

Since then we had a working bee and got the place really tidy and cleaned up. We are really grateful for that.

The Adventures of Princess

10 years ago in 2005 Christian and Sarah Joy fandrich had a baby girl with they named Princess Grace Fandrich. Princess had a older brother named Tiger. Tiger and Princess liked playing together. Christian was a Doctor. Sarah Joy used to be a teacher, but now she is a mum. 

When Princess was nearly one Christian decided to be a pastor. So they moved to Adelaide. Christian learned to be a pastor at Sem. They lived in one of the Sem houses. Princess liked playing with her friends at Sem. While they were still there Sarah Joy had 2 boys whose names were The Man and Tank. 

When Princess was 4, Tiger was 6, The Man was 2 and Tank was a baby, Christian finished studying and they moved to Toowoomba. There was their first church. They lived there for 5 years and while they were there they had two more babies whose names were Joybug and Skipper.

In 2014 they got there first call to Burrumbuttock, they moved that year. They bought their own property, it had 13 acres. Princess liked to see how different the place looked. 

Then in July on Saturday the 11th, at 3pm a tornado hit their place. The place was a mess!! The shed was destroyed and the tanks were ruined. On Tuesday the shed was taken apart and put in a pile. On Saturday they had a working bee come out. 

It was one of Princess' adventures.

Lego Christmas (Northern Hemisphere)

We made a Lego model of Christmas in the Northern Hemisphere. The scene is set at a frozen lake. There's a fire going in the background to warm them when they get cold. A girl is ice skating on the lake, whilst a man is building a snow man. Two blokes are having a snowball fight.

To make the fire glow, we built the fire out of Lego, and took a few pictures. We edited the main picture colder in temperature (more blues and greens). We then edited and cut down another photo to just the fire. We increased the temperature on the fire photo (more yellows and reds), then we placed the fire in the spot where it was on the main photo. We blurred the outline so that it looked natural.

"Making Princesses" Retreat

We went to a place where we stayed at a cabin called "Applegum". That night we had a spa and ate chocolates. Mummy read a book to me about girls. That night we watched "Nim's Island".

The next day we had hot chocolates with Tim Tams and Bacon and Tomato with spinach leaves. Mummy gave a book for girls to learn more about Jesus. We went for a bush walk before lunch and walked mostly downhill. That afternoon we watched "Nim's Island" again. It's a good film about a girl named Nim who lived on a Island and had lots of adventures.

Half way through, I found a tick in my hair. We went to the office and got the tick out of my hair. Then we went back to the cabin and got dressed to go out. We went to a Chinese restaurant and had a good dinner and some dessert.

The next day we packed up all of our things and had a massage. We drove back home.

decided not to go tenting on our retreat. We think we
need something a bit special!
Otherwise known as "Big Girls Camp", or "Big Boys Camp", both Christian and I take our children away by themselves for two nights every year once they turn 8. Christian takes the boys, and I take the girls. 

The purpose of our camp is for us as parents to develop our personal relationship with each of our children, to give specific discipleship and encouragement in their relationship with Jesus, to teach them about their changing body and give them a godly perspective on sexuality and how to relate appropriately to the opposite sex. We do this well before they are teenagers because we want to imprint God's standards in their lives before the world gets it's chance. 

The idea comes from many sources that talk about our culture having a lack of "coming of age" or "initiation"event, as traditional cultures have. We did this in my family when we each turned 18. But we decided that it was important to develop our personal relationship with our children earlier because of the sexualisation of our world. Currently, I use Concordia Press: Learning about Sex series to teach our children about their body. This year both Tiger and Princess received a devotional book that we taught them how to use. Another good resource, particularly for girls would be Dannah Gresh's book on Mother Daughter dates.

My Guinea Pig Report

I like to hold Pinky, he is really pretty.
Guinea Pigs come from South America. They are easily scared and can die if they get too scared. They have eyes on the sides of their heads, like lots of other animals. They have a pointy nose that people could sometimes think is the mouth.

It is a member of the rodent family. They have whiskers, like cats and dogs. They have fur all over them to keep them warm. They have really flappy ears, and scratchy claws. They have four claws on their front paws and on the back paws they have three. They have really sharp and long teeth, there are two at the bottom and two at the top.

This Fuzzy, she has a mohawk.
Babies. When they are born they are very small. Guinea pig babies are born without hair.
